When was the last time somebody proved you wrong and you admitted it?
by Terry inintellectual honesty and personal integrity depend on a fine point.
can you accept being wrong and admit it?.
nobody wants to be wrong because we have to trust your view of things to survive and prosper.

Meeting experience
by gutted inthis weeks service meeting was typical.. "where were you?
" "i'm concerned about you".
then the typical song and dance of the parts/talks, all recycled notions of doing better in the service.

Name Things JWs Make Issues Over They Have No Right To Do
by minimus inthe witnesses are worse than the pharisees ever were!.
if you don't turn in a time slip and record your "ministerial" activities, you are no good.. if you wanted to smoke, you would be kicked out, even though the bible says nothing about smoking (and j.f.
rutherford, the society's president regularly smoked).. you cannot go to a "quick build" project and give of your free services if you are wearing a tee shirt with a logo on it!.

Generation - topic dedicated to debator
by teel inthere was a heated discussion between debator and a few others by hijacking this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/194187/1.
i posted here every post on this subject, so you can continue the debate, and leave that thread to its original purpose.
hopefully i got all the relevant posts.

Did the nephilim have free will, or were they merely moral 'zombies'?
by gubberningbody ini find it hard to believe that every one of them used their 'free will' in a way meriting eternal destruction.. prove to me they have free will when supposedly 100% of them were bad.. if they had no choice as to their 'badness', then where is their messiah?.
why do we get one and they don't?.

Why Watchtower Teaching On Armageddon Is A Myth
by Scott77 inat romans 6:1-14, we read in part, but especially at 6:7, " for he who has died has been freed from sin.
... we have died with respect to the wrath that sin incurs, having had our sins forgiven".
now stop and think.

The Significance of Raymond Victor Franz
by AllTimeJeff inthe significance of raymond franz.
in the light of the passing of raymond franz this week, it is clear from the reaction that many were affected by the deeds of this man.
while he was called gentle by those who knew him (for the record, i never got to meet him personally) his reputation preceded him both in the ex jehovah's witness community, and still to this day at the world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses.. while his writings were indeed fair and reasonable, (i challenge anyone to read his books and find bitterness associated with him toward his former peers) i think it would be a mistake to remember ray franz as somewhat of a gentle, doting old man.

My personal thoughts on Ray Franz
by Terry inthe death of ray franz hit me harder than i would have thought.. i had to reflect for awhile....alone......and quietly.. .
after all, fine people die every day and some of them are indispensable, yet, we go on....don't we?.
but, ray franz was something that can only be described in the phrase sui generis (one of a kind).. my task was to ask myself what it was that made ray so singular, potent and admirable without a trace of scandal or ill will attached to his memory.. .
